11 Silk Scarves Care Tips to Know
zaozao, silk scarf, silk care, care tip

Here’s the lowdown:

STORING:

— Keep your scarf away from direct sunlight. It’ll cause those gorgeous colors to fade.
— Protect your scarf from harsh chemicals like perfume. While you’ll smell fantastic, the perfume will cause spotting or the silk fibers to deterioriate.

WASHING & CLEANING:

— Dry clean your scarf, especially if it is embroided or made of crinked or broaced silk. Now’s not the time to skimp.
— Hand washing in warm water with a mild and gentle detergent will not damage the fabric as long as it is embellishment-free.
— Don’t throw your silk scarf in the dryer unless you want it to shrink.
— Don’t wring your scarf if you do hand wash it. Gently lay it flat between two towels.
— Hang indoors to dry to prevent damage from the sun and wind.
— Iron a wrinkled or creased scarf while it is still damp. Low heat will rid your scarf of creases.

STORING:

— Keep your scarf dry as prolonged exposure to dampness or water will cause your scarf to become damaged and stretched out.
— Roll, not fold or stuff, your scarf to prevent creasing.
— Air your scarf out every six months to allow air to circulate around the scarf. It needs to breathe!
