ZAOZAO Pops Up in Seoul!

Heading to Seoul to curate a jewelry pop-up corner for Level 5, a retail shop in Seoul that showcases the best emerging Korean clothing designers.

Been wanting to share this exciting piece of news but had to keep it under wraps as we were in discussion mode for a few months. We were invited by Level 5, a retailer in the ultra hip neighborhood of Myeongdong, to curate a jewelry pop-up corner this fall. Level 5 showcases dozens of Seoul’s best emerging clothing designers, including past participants of Project Runway Korea, in individual concept shops on the same retail floor. I was blown away by the variety, quality and workmanship of the designs when I first visited Level 5 last October. For someone who frequents fast fashions chains, it was such a breath of fresh air to be able to shop pieces I knew no one else would have, without breaking the bank. Naturally, I was thrilled when I learnt of this opportunity to collaborate and give Seoul shoppers a taste of what ZAOZAO has to offer.

Peek at what I sourced and curated. Separated the selection into three themes: edgy rock, elegant chic and feminine basics. Something for everyone!

I would wear all of these. I wish I could have taken one of each back with me!

If you know me and my style, I tend to keep my clothes quite classic and minimal, using bold statement jewelry to give my outfit an edge. I love blinged out pieces. The bolder the better. I used to swear by Venna, Noir, Shourouk and Elizabeth Cole until I discovered all these amazing baubles in Seoul. Just as trendy and for way, way, WAY less. Let’s just say it makes me want to cry thinking about how much I used to shell out for my costume jewelry.

Anyways, I sourced and curated pieces by three themes: edgy rock (above), elegant chic and feminine basics. If you happen to be in Seoul, do pop by and let me know what you think!

Pizzeria D'Buzza: my favorite pizza place in Garosugil, Apgujeong, Seoul, South Korea.

Killing time at TO THE DIFFERENT in Garosugil. Tried these Korean treats: iced green tea with red bean and nuts, and a blueberry cheesecake.

At a Korean dessert cafe, TO THE DIFFERENT, in Garosugil. I was only in Seoul for two full days but was on my feet majority of the time. I walked more than 17,000 steps in one day, which is how I justified these desserts. Ahhh.. yolo.

It’s my last night in Singapore. So happy I no longer have to count the sleeps till I’m back in NY. I feel like I’ve been in limbo this whole summer.

Good night!
