finding my way around the la salle campus, meeting a designer/part-time lecturer at the cafe on campus

i'm actually a pretty shy person and have always gone out of my way to avoid potentially awkward situations. i was a hermit prior to working on zaozao, i was happy and comfortable with my life the way it was. i liked routine and found comfort knowing i had a schedule to follow day after day. all that has changed in the last 2-3 months.

Blueprint Emporium

really looking forward to blueprint emporium next month (may 19-20)! i was extremely excited when i was told we would be able to buy merchandise on those days! many of the designers don't want to carry their samples back home. perfect for me!! but worrying for my near-empty bank account.

Teenage Dream

it takes me by surprise when strangers are genuinely interested in helping our startup, especially because the initial support i received from some of my family and friends was non-existant. the handful of bloggers and designers i've met of late have been so encouraging and friendly that i feel like what i'm doing has a purpose. corny? maybe. but the fact that this new-found passion, not money, is motivating me to try and make a difference is refreshing.

things have been crazyyyy. i wish there were more hours in a day. we definitely need to hire interns soon! i'm flying back to hong kong tomorrow to meet with a few agencies to explore branding options. i'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer our startup and how they can help us. like one of the agencies said, "you only get one launch!"

2 Broke Girls

what some refer to as "their early 20s", i refer to as my perpetuated state of uncertainty.

i worked hard at my first job, did it well, got promoted. but i was never happy. there was a void. i always felt like there was something else i was meant to do, i just didn't know what.

when vicky and i started bouncing ideas off each other, i dont think either of us anticipated how quickly everything would come together. it took me by surprise (in a good way). it's a whole new level of challenges and stress but im more motivated than i've ever been. am also the happiest ive been in a while.

we're just 2 broke girls now, but i believe we are on to something. we may have walked away from jobs many would kill for, but we'd do it again in a heartbeat.
