Landed in New York last Tuesday at 10pm. Unpacked a little, read over questions for a tech chat for Silicon Dragon the next day. Attended speakers’ luncheon and promptly entered food coma…cut out early to nap before the actual event. Snoozed twice before rushing to midtown to make it in time for my slot. Did 3 TV interviews and then went on stage. Wore hat to cover up bad bangs, threw on some makeup to look alive. Executed tech chat with no major glitches. Stayed afterward and met a gazillion promising contacts. Success.

Chinese herbs for healing
This comes as no surprise, but after 3 weeks of country-hopping across north and southeast Asia, things haven’t stopped or even slowed down. That is why it is so important to safeguard one’s health and (if possible) mental well-being, whether it’s with exercise or meditation or just having reliable friends. A seasoned entrepreneur I met at the conference last week read my mind when he said it is crucial to stay focused on the things you love - because you’re giving up a lot to pursue a dream that maybe not everyone believes in. You’ll lose friends, and you’ll find yourself not being able to function like a normal social being sometimes due to financial and time constraints. Many of his points hit home, and each challenge presented has reminded me of how much I do love to find new ways of connecting things, bridging gaps between cultures and exploring the unknown. And fashion of course, which makes doing all of these things through the lens of discovering emerging designers totally my jam.
With all the new initiatives we are planning, it is an absolute joy to have extra hands on deck. Psyched to have two new interns join us in New York for this summer. Warm welcome to Michelle and Ally! Yay.
