One of the amazing things about pivoting ZAOZAO to a travel-inspired shopping site is the opportunity to travel on a regular basis. I split my time between New York, Singapore and Hong Kong, and travel to South East Asian countries every 6 months or so to scout new designers. Imagine jetting to exotic places that are just as breathtakingly beautiful in person as they are in photos, treating your tastes buds to interesting local flavors, losing yourself in local attractions, exploring the local design scene and meandering busy streets all in the name of work. Pretty sweet right?

Vicky & I reunited after a month apart. Kicked off our 3 weeks travel schedule with a morning interview at PMQ in Central. Formally the Police Married Quarters, PMQ is now home to dozens of talented local designers in Hong Kong.

We’ve just embarked on a 3 week tour de S.E Asia. Starting in Hong Kong, we’re now in Singapore, before making pitstops in Chiang Mai, Ho Chi Minh and Kuala Lumpur. We’ll be focusing on interviewing designers and interviewing urban influencers in Hong Kong and Singapore.

In Chiang Mai, Ho Chi Minh and Kuala Lumpur, we will be discovering designers as we explore these new cities. We’ll be scoping out boutiques, concept stores, art gallery districts, night markets and workshops to see what the local fashion scene is like. We’ll be filming ourselves as we go along so that you can virtually partake in our experiences!
