Sorry for the lack of updates! Somewhere between preparing for our launch and realizing how many family/friends/ex-colleages were reading our blog, I became hyper-conscious about what I was putting out into the blogosphere (you may have noticed some of my posts have vanished/been edited). I'm still trying to get used to being active on social media. Not a natural habit to form considering I used to be the biggest online hermit.
Quick update in case you're not following us on Facebook or if you haven't signed up for our newsletter (You should. We don't spam - who has time for that?), ZAOZAO has had 19 successfully funded designs from 12 emerging designers in 4 different countries since we launched our beta site at the end of September! You can view all the designs here. Bryant over at FashonCrave has also started a series of short designer interviews which you should definitely check out. You've heard Vicky & I talk about the benefits of crowdfunding, but you haven't heard from the designers themselves. Did they know what crowdfunding was when we first approached them? What were their initial thoughts about this concept? Did they have any hesitations about coming onboard? You can find out all about it here and here.
Also, going forward you'll be seeing a lot more of "me" coming through in our content. Yes, the outfit sets, trends, style crushes etc. you've been seeing on Facebook and Instagram were all created by me, but I've been pushing it as ZAOZAO's identity. That will be changed in the coming weeks. I think it'd be interesting to show how different Vicky & I are in terms of personality and style.
For now, here are 2 outfit photos:

ps. Am also trying to feel more comfortable camwhoring. Might be a while before you actually see my head/face in photos hahaha!

Frankly, the current (bad) UI might be fatal. It's like a Web1.0 site using the technology adopted 10 years ago.
ReplyDeletewhat? the website? this blog?
DeleteYea, the site. My suggestion:
ReplyDeleteinvest more resources on the core element -- UI of the portal. If u take a look at those e-commerce startup sites appeared on Techcrunch, u can easily tell the difference between the quality of their UIs and yours.
I understand that the idea of lean startup is to ship a minimum-viable-product and avoid any premature refinement. but i guess that doesn't imply u should ship a low-quality site that would fail to gain any traction.
(sorry to be frank =[ but i like your idea and hope this helps)
did you send an email to us at [email protected]? we received similar feedback before and appreciate your honesty.
Deleteyes we know that our UI & UX needs to be improved and we are working on rolling out a better version of our site.
what email?
Deletenever mind, not important. thanks anyways for your suggestions!
