Part of Me

the real reason i've been working from singapore is because someone very dear to me was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness days after i had committed to working on zaozao. it wasn't a matter of which responsibility i had to walk away from first, but figuring out a feasible working situation asap. and so i hopped on the first flight out of hong kong and dove head first into chaos.

my new hand accessory, catheter in my neck nbd

trying to maintain any semblance of work-life balance is impossible when you're weeks into building the foundation of your business. being a full time caregiver to a family member on top of that? well that's just mentally, emotionally and physically draining. im surprised i havent collapsed yet. especially since i just had a catheter inserted into my neck 2 days ago and endured a 6-hour "blood harvesting" process today in anticipation of my upcoming bone marrow transplant.

frankenstein does white & stripes

chugging sugar cane juice to keep me from fainting (again), playing scoops to kill time (yes, really)

"blood harvesting" in process... soo 21st century meets twilight. (fun fact: that grapefruit pink, yellow and red liquid? that's my bloooood)

i'm extremely uncomfortable and my hands are going numb. i've received jabs the last 5 days to make my body produce a lot more blood cells. this has been causing persistant pain in my lower back as my bone marrow is forced to work three times as hard. i actually have to hold my back when i walk around. the catheter makes it difficult & painful for me to turn my head from side to side, i need help lying down or getting up. my neck and shoulders are tense. all i want to do is relax and get a good nights sleep!!!

can't wait for the catheter to be removed next week so i can get back to business! seriously. so much to do, so little time!

this just goes to show how far we can push ourselves and what we are willing to do once we have our minds set on something.

before i go, just want to say that vicky has been incredibly understanding and sympathetic about my situation. yup, she's amazing. one of the many reasons why we make a great team.
